Recipe- Green Lemonade

One taste and I’m hooked.  My friend recently made her favorite “green” drink for me using her vitamix, and I loved it.  I don’t recommend juicing, which removes the fiber.

This recipe is a version of lemonade, only without the refined sugar, and lots of greens thrown in as well as ginger which is an anti-inflammatory.   You can try to use a regular blender but I don’t think you’ll get the desired consistency.

Makes 2 cups (16 oz)

Ingredients:

lemon- 1 whole, peeled

ginger- 1 oz, peeled and chopped

apple- half, cored, chopped

coconut water, plain- 1 cup

kale- 1 large handful chopped (I recommend dinosaur, tuscan, or tuscano kale- less bitter)

romaine lettuce- 1 heart, chopped

Directions:

Place all ingredients in blender and process until it reaches your desired consistency.  Enjoy!
