Sprinting, or getting your heart rate to it’s maximum, is one of the best ways to burn fat, build muscle and prime your mind and body for greatness. Sprinting is so basic to our survival that every time you do it your body releases human growth hormone.
How do you work it into your workouts? Here are some ways:
- Set up a 40 yard distance. Sprint to one end, jog or walk back, repeat 5 or 10 times
- Do hill repeats. Find a hill and run up and down it, 5-10 times, depending on the hill
- Do burpees or star-jumps with your resistance workout
Enjoy the cascade or “feel good” drugs in your brain and the power and confidence sprinting gives you. Start slow and have fun.
