Sometimes you have to eat and train like your life depends on it, because it does.more »
The note below came from a Fit Friends’ Revolution member who recently changed her life by participating in our first 5K training program. But that’s not the end of the story, and that’s why I included it this week. Her adult son has been inspired by observing her healthy lifestyle as a member of the FFR club. She earns a place next to Ghandi when it comes to influencing others. Ghandi said, “To change the world, start with yourself.” more »

Fit Friends’ Revolution coming Oct 2010
When I was 60lbs overweight I used to think I wanted to lose weight and that would make me happy. It took me years to realize that losing weight wouldn’t make me happy.
Here’s the question of the day, “If this was going to be your last day, what would you say is the most important thing to you?”
For me it’s my team above. Anna, Emma and Alexander. I eat energizing foods, train my body for strength and stamina and focus my thoughts on success and how I can be my best for them. What motivates me is not how many calories I burn exercising or how to starve myself to be thin, but how can I give my children the things I didn’t have as a child. I can’t think of a better motivator for me. I will never let them down, it’s just not an option.
What is it for you if it’s not about the weight? What are you exercising and eating healthy for? Answer that question and you will master your health!
I do my 5 Minutes to Fitness+ workout in front of my kids as much as possible, like this morning. Why? It’s obvious when you look at the picture above. They are intrigued, ask questions and always try to copy my moves. It’s my opportunity to answer questions from my 2 1/2 year old like, “Daddy, why you do that?”. I can reply, “Because I love you more than anything and want to be healthy so we can do great things together!
My main reason for being healthy? To be the best role model for my kids. To give them the opportunities and knowledge I never had. Oh, and looking good in jeans is pretty cool too Bonus!
