If you don’t like turkey burgers, you’ve never had one like this. My recipe, like so many, has a Greek influence and is juicy, flavorful and good for you and the kids. Remember to buy meat that is organic, hormone & antibiotic free and grass fed when possible. When serving, I skip the bun (save 200 cals) and eat an extra burger and heaps of grilled veggies like red onion and sweet peppers.
Nutrition- One 4 oz burger has approximately 200 cals
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey “breast”
- 1 lb ground turkey “dark meat”
- 1 small lemon
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 2 tbsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp dried parsley
- 1 tbsp dried dill
- whole wheat bread crumbs as needed
Recipe:
Preheat grill to medium. Mix ground turkey with all ingredients. Only use bread crumbs if the mixture is to wet. Form into burgers, (you can do sliders). Place on hot grill for 4-5 minutes and turn once. They’re done when juices run clear or temp is 160. Don’t overcook, please for gourmet sake.
Tip- When you flip burgers don’t flatten them with the spatula. You’ll squeeze out the juice and render them dry. Bon appetit!

For something new to do with green beans, throw them on the grill. Make sure to buy some extra because you’ll lose a couple through the grates. The secret is to use the best quality balsamic vinegar and olive oil you can find.
Nutrition: 60 calories per cup as prepared
Ingredients:
- 1 bag organic green beans or haricot verts
- 1/2 red onion chopped
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional- chopped roasted red peppers
Recipe:
Preheat grill. Wash the green beans and cut off ends. Chop red onion and set aside. Toss green beans with 1 tbsp of oil & vinegar, salt and pepper. Grill the green beans over medium heat for 4-5 minutes and turn over. Cook for another few minutes turning over occasionally to grill all sides. Remove from heat and toss with red onions and remaining oil and vinegar. Serve warm. Bon appetit!
