A Fit Friends’s Revolution member recently contacted me saying she was stuck and couldn’t lose any more weight. I recommended she start using the tracker again to track everything she’s eating and then showed her how to access the advanced arm and leg workouts to build more muscle and increase her metabolism. Side note: She was able to do 10 full push-ups with a little encouragement and push. Well done!!
She did everything I recommended and lost an additional 5 lbs in 2 weeks and is at 20lbs of fat lost so far. She has another weight goal and when she continues to do what she’s doing she’ll reach that goal too.
One reason she hit her goal is because she asked for help. That’s why I created the Fit Friends’ Revolution; so we’d have a place to go for strategies that work and the support we all need to be our best. If you’re stuck, ask for help, it’s ok.

“It’s always darkest before the dawn” is what my friend recently reminded me of. Listen to hear why it always gets harder before you make a breakthrough and succeed. Remember, success is supposed to be difficult to attain. Don’t give up just yet.
You know what a breakthrough is? For me it’s when a client hears something that instantly releases them from what’s holding them back from better health. Recently, when a client heard someone tell her she didn’t have to like exercise or healthy foods, she had an epiphany. If you don’t know, that’s an, “oh sh*t”, moment. Soon after hearing that, she lost 6 lbs by sticking to her health routine.
You may remember someone telling you, “There are some things in life that you just have to do”. You don’t have to love doing, “healthy things”. It’s seems more logical to love what doing those things can provide; energy, vitality, self-confidence, happiness and love.
Today, keep your ears open, for someone may say something that helps you break-through.
“I’ll start Monday.” ”It’s too expensive.” “I don’t have enough time.” “I’m afraid I’ll fail.” “I deserve this dessert.” “I’m too tired to get up early and exercise.”
Do any of these sound familiar? If they do then you’re like me and everyone else, you have this little voice in your head that sabotages your motivation. more »
Alison: I did NOT want to swim today. What can I say: for Spring it’s miserably cold, swimming is my weakest sport, and even though I’ve gotten used to waking up at 4AM to workout every morning, do you ever really get used to that? more »
It might seem like common sense, but specific foods and exercises, coupled with a winning attitude will give us the energy, strength and mind power to be the best we can be. I was recently interviewed by Jamie Miller of Quiz Genius and she asked me these important questions. The answers contain the secrets of my success. more »
Alison- My 2 ½ year old son, Benjamin, recently moved up to the next classroom at his nursery school, though he had been the second youngest child in his previous class. I like to think they made the move because of his cognitive prowess (which he gets from his mother ☺), but in truth he was just too big to hang out with kids his own age; he didn’t fit in the tiny chairs and his feet hung off his cot at nap time. I guess the dominant genes in that “little” boy’s body come from his 6’4” father. more »
