I mentor once taught me, surround yourself with great people and great things will happen to you. I’ve done exactly that, and now I’m now sharing these great people with you.
I’ve asked several members of my team to write about what has helped them as a member of the Fit Friends’ Revolution Club, or our coaching sessions together. Every day this week I will post what they wrote about it. You’ll also hear from a new member, Susan, who graciously and courageously agreed to blog about her own health Journey. Stay tuned for her compelling story.
You’ll hear about strategies that have literally changed people’s lives, starting with “5 Minutes to Fitness+”; things you can do and use to help yourself immediately. You won’t hear about any magic pills, miracle supplements, cleanses, diet fads or ridiculous exercise routines. That’s not health.

One of my first mentors was and is, Barry Farber, the best selling author, motivational speaker and sales expert. That’s him “rolling” on stage in front of 1000′s, his signature way of teaching us to do things differently than everyone else.
Barry taught me most of what I know about business and gave me my first lesson in success. He said, “Show up”. I did and that’s how I got my first speaking gig many years ago. I also tell Barry my business ideas and he helps me shape and apply them. He gives me brutally honest feedback, like not to be a “wuss” when I was feeling sorry for myself or when he thinks I have a truly good idea. He helped me get on QVC, got me a meeting with the top modeling agency in the world, The Food Network CEO and the editor of Fitness Magazine all with one phone call.

My old college football buddy, Brian, lost 17 lbs and counting. How, and why might you care? Some background first.
20 years ago I played football for Rutgers University and Brian was one of my teammates. We lost touch until Facebook reunited us. The last time I saw brian I was 65 lbs heavier and he was fit. You know what a breakthrough is? For me it’s when a client hears something that instantly releases them from what’s holding them back from better health. Recently, when a client heard someone tell her she didn’t have to like exercise or healthy foods, she had an epiphany. If you don’t know, that’s an, “oh sh*t”, moment. Soon after hearing that, she lost 6 lbs by sticking to her health routine.
You may remember someone telling you, “There are some things in life that you just have to do”. You don’t have to love doing, “healthy things”. It’s seems more logical to love what doing those things can provide; energy, vitality, self-confidence, happiness and love.
Today, keep your ears open, for someone may say something that helps you break-through.

Albert Einstein said, imagination was more important than knowledge. Author Walter Isaacson, in his biography of Einstein, reminds us that what made him special was his impertinence, non-conformity and distaste for dogma, in short, he was a rebel.
He would have been right at home in the Fit Friends’ Revolution where our philosophy is to revolutionize your health by doing the opposite of what everyone else does:
- Food is for energy, not emotions

I jog once a week in addition to my 20 minute band workout, 5-6 times a week. When jogging by the building above I always admire its attractive facade (left side of building). What I never noticed was it’s foundation, which is plain & unattractive, but certainly strong (right side of building). more »
