I love to read Alison’s blog because I can live through her challenges, hear how she uses strategies we work on, then succeeds. It’s nice to know someone’s listening. Here she uses 2 powerful secrets, break down goals into small chunks, and visualize your success. Read how she uses that to run 18 miles. more »

Alison: I am standing on the edge of the water of a beautiful lake. It’s a warm, sunny, lovely morning. I dig my bare feet in the sand a bit and look out over the water again. And I completely panic.

If you’re reading this on Sunday morning, May 1st, before 10 am, then right now I’m running a 1/2 marathon. If it’s after 11am, you’ve caught me in the middle of devouring a whole pizza and washing it down with Buffalo wings
Don’t worry, I won’t gain a pound, I just burned over 1000 cals

Alison:
I’m going to start this blog by reminding you that I’m a data analyst. Not only does this mean that I’m ridiculously intelligent ☺, but that I’m also extremely organized. My spices are alphabetized in the pantry, the sweaters in my closet are sorted by color, and when I unpack my bag at the gym, I put everything in my locker in the opposite order in which I will need it, so that I don’t have to dig through my stuff to find anything. My husband jokes that he’s waiting for the day that I turn to the kids and say, “OK! The spontaneous fun will begin in 10 minutes!” more »

Alison: I want to start this blog by saying that it’s all Peter K’s fault.
Now, before you block his website permanently from your computer, let me explain. About a year and a half ago, I was working out during a health coaching session with Peter, when he asked me seven simple words that changed my life: “Hey, Al, have you ever tried running?” I replied to that sentence with words that I can’t repeat in this G-rated blog, more »

Alison: When I was fat, I used to hate diet commercials. They would show young healthy people jumping like idiots in aerobics classes, not sweaty at all, with big smiles on their faces. Then they’d show these same people in cute little outfits eating a piece of celery and laughing. And underneath would be a line in teeny, tiny print: “Results not typical.” Whenever I saw these commercials, I knew I had no business even trying these diets. I was too ordinary to get atypical results; besides, I hate celery. more »

5 Minutes to Fitness+ Club coming soon

Alison and Stephanie planned something special and they got into incredible shape. They just did there 1st triathlon and I am so proud and impressed by them!
Ali and Steph didn’t just walk up to the edge of the water early one morning and start swimming in their first triathlon. That would have been terrifying, foolish and sabotaging. They:
- Committed to an event
- Told others about their goals
- Set up a training plan and followed it
- Got a mentor to assist them
You have something great waiting for you. You just have to plan it and surround yourself with great people. Then great things will happen for you!
