Who doesn’t love cereal? My kids consume the stuff by the case. As a parent I’m thankful companies like Kashi exist so I can confidently give them good food from a company that cares about people, health and the environment.
I recently joined my good friend and celebrity yoga instructor Kristin McGee for a Kashi breakfast in NYC where we met Kashi’s Natural Lifestyle Business Partner, Keegan Sheridan, who utilizes her nutrition expertise as a licensed naturopathic physician to help develop new products.
I enjoyed a bowl of Kashi U cereal which Kashi created to represent unity within your body and to promote vitality. Besides being delicious it offers you a combination of Seven Whole Grain flakes, tangy black currants, crunchy walnuts, and oat clusters and is packed in a 100% recycled box and full of nutrition:
- Omega 3 ALA (350mg) from walnuts and 100% of vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid
- Antioxidant vitamins C and E, along with dark berries
- An excellent source of calcium and vitamin D to support bone health
- 7 grams of fiber along with prebiotics to help the good bacteria grow
- Over half of the daily recommended amount of whole grains
After the breakfast I headed to Wall St. for several corporate wellness meetings and felt more energetic, clarity and focus from eating the right foods. Enjoy Kashi and feel confident giving your children and your self a great start to the day from a company that cares.
I recently shot several 5 Minutes to Fitness+ TV segments with celebrity Yoga/Pilates instructor, Kristin McGee. We met several years ago and I’ve always admired her talent and down to earth attitude while training stars like Tina Fey and Bethany Frankel. I wanted to share a recent blog she did because women are always asking me how to work on their tush.
Kristin writes, “I’ve been blogging about how great yoga is for building a beautiful backside and I just have to add that Pilates is also an awesome way to get that sculpted ballerina butt. I think the two together are the best combination of them all. Here’s a Pilates routine I developed for Access Hollywood that will lift and tone your tush in just 3 moves.”
